Tawes Garden Tour: Plant Mural

This arc of colorful plants is known as the plant mural. The cultivated flowers attract beneficial insects like bumble bees and butterflies looking for nectar from flowers.

In 2021 the garden began a transition from its traditional garden design of plants for year-round interest to one more focused on native perennial plants that provide food for visiting pollinators and songbirds. The Plant Mural is supported in part by the University of Maryland Extension Master Gardeners of Anne Arundel County. Unity Gardens grant funding has also made the move toward a more conservation-minded focus possible.
