Education - For Teachers

People collecting data out in the field. Our goal is to help you bring science to life for you and your students through the use of authentic research and data collected. Numerous field based programs are offered throughout the Reserve’s components through use of boats, hiking trails and boardwalks. These national and state standards-based programs are designed to be modified to meet the needs of the program participants. In addition to the field programs Chesapeake Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve Maryland, the National Estuarine Research Reserve System (NERRS) and the Department of Natural Resources, also provide professional development opportunities, high quality classroom based activities and curricula that focus on estuarine issues and environmental literacy. For more details on any of these opportunities, please contact our Education Coordinator at coreen.weilminster@maryland.gov.
