Driving Directions:
From the Washington, D.C. area take I-270 north toward Rockville and exit at Route 28 west toward Frederick County. Approximately one mile after crossing the Frederick County line you will see the main parking area marked before reaching the Monocacy River Bridge. For additional access points, contact Seneca Creek State Park, which manages this facility.

Hours of Operation:
Sunrise to sunset

Hunters are allowed in the woods 1 hour before sunrise to 1 hour after sunset during deer season.

Certain activities are permitted outside of the regular park hours (e.g. fishing, boat launch and hunting where permitted). Please check with the park before your visit if you plan to engage in an activity which requires you to be in the park before or after the posted hours.

Hunting Policy:
  • General hunting permitted in 1,800 acre designated hunting area
  • Hunting permitted Monday-Saturday

Pet Policy:
Pets are allowed in Monocacy NRMA​.
