Driving Directions:

Directions from Baltimore and points South:
Take I-95 North to Exit 100.
Take Exit 100 onto Rt. 272 South towards the town of North East.
Follow Rt. 272 South for 14 miles into Elk Neck State Park.

Directions from Delaware and points North:
Take I-95 South to Exit 100.
Take Exit 100 onto Rt. 272 South towards the town of North East.
Follow Rt. 272 South for approximately 14 miles into Elk Neck State Park.


Hours of Operation:
​9 a.m. to sunset

Certain activities are permitted outside of the regular park hours (e.g. fishing, boat launch, hunting where permitted). Please check with the park before your visit if you plan to engage in an activity which requires you to be in the park before or after the posted hours.

Hunting Policy:
  • Archery/Muzzleloader/Shotgun hunting for deer permitted on 570 acres of designated hunting areas with daily sign-in required - Managed Hunt Permit/free WHS permit required
  • Waterfowl blind sites available by lottery (free WHS permit/reservation required) - Managed Hunt Permit required
  • Hunt from Vehicle provisions for disabled hunters

Pet Policy:
​Pets are allowed in the following designated areas of Elk Neck State Park:

  • Pets allowed in campground (except Bohemia, Chester, Tred Avon, and Sassafras loops, rustic cabins and the youth group camping area)
  • Pets allowed in all day-use areas, including North East Beach area (except for sandy portion of swimming beach area from Memorial Day weekend until after Labor Day)
