Public Lands - Accessible Playgrounds

Maryland State Parks have thirty-three accessible playgrounds across the state. All have been designed for children between the ages of 5 to 12 years of age. Adult supervision is recommended. Play Safe!

Assateague:
Playground is between accessible Atlantic Ocean Bath House and accessible Camp Shower Building.
Cedarville:
Playground is located near accessible Group Shelter and accessible Comfort Station...needs connecting Paths.
Cunningham Falls:
Playground is located between Houck Area accessible Bath House and Lake Picnic Area near accessible Food Concession.
Deep Creek Lake:
Playground is located above Lake across from accessible Comfort Station #2.
Elk Neck:
Playground is located next to accessible Camp Store and accessible Putt-Putt Golf.
Greenbrier:
Playground is located across from accessible North Comfort Station and near accessible Lake Bath House with numerous accessible Picnic Pads with accessible Tables.
Gunpowder Falls:

Four playgrounds in the Hammerman Area:

  • next to accessible Comfort Station #1 and accessible Shelter #1.
  • next to the accessible River Bath House.

Herrington Manor:
Playground is located across Park Drive from accessible Office and accessible Cabin #17 and #20.
Martinak:
Two playgrounds:
  • in Picnic Area near accessible Comfort Station.
  • near accessible Camp Shower Building.
New Germany:
Playground is located above parking for accessible Lake Warming Hut/Bath House; next to CCC - built Shelter and Comfort Station.
Patapsco Valley:
Four playgrounds:
  • in Hilton Area near accessible Camp Shower Building.
  • in Avalon Area next to accessible Shelter #104 near accessible Comfort Station.
  • in McKeldin Area between accessible Group Shelters #508 and 512 and near accessible Comfort Station.
  • In Hollofield there is a l​arge fully accessible Playground.
Pocomoke River:
Playgrounds are located near accessible Comfort Stations at the Shad Landing Marina and the Milburn Landing Nassawango Day Use Area.
Point Lookout:
One playground:
  • in Hoffmans Campground near accessible camp shower building (for registered campers only)
Rocks:
Playground is located in Hills Grove Area near accessible Comfort Station and Shelter.
Sandy Point:
Seven playgrounds:
  • five playgrounds are at the East Beach Area.
  • two are at the South Beach Area near accessible Beach Bath Houses...and several accessible Comfort Stations and several accessible Group Picnic Shelters---all accessible.
Seneca Creek:
Four playgrounds:
  • in Bob White Area near accessible Comfort Station and Shelter.
  • in Buck Area near accessible Comfort Station and Shelter.
  • in Doe Area near accessible Comfort Station and Shelter
  • in Fawn Area near accessible Comfort Station and Shelter.
Smallwood:
Nature playscape playground, and Tire Playground near accessible Picnic Shelter and across from accessible Comfort Stations.
St. Mary's River:
Playground is located adjacent to the parking lot.
Susquehanna:
Two playgrounds:
  • near accessible Camp Shower Building
  • a new one is being installed in 2004 in the new accessible Deer Creek Picnic Area near accessible Comfort Station and accessible Shelter.
Tuckahoe:
Playground is located at Cherry Lane Picnic Area next to accessible Comfort Station and accessible Picnic Shelter.
