We hope you enjoy the unique experience of visiting Saint Clement’s Island State Park! The first step to completing this Quest is contacting the Saint Clement’s Island museum to inquire about the water taxi to the Island: Call 301-769-2222 for this information. The water taxi is operated through the museum and hours of operation may vary depending on weather and sea condition. Reservations are required.

St. Clements Island LighthousePark Quest Passport holders are entitled to a free water taxi ride to the Island. The water taxi will leave from the Saint Clement’s Island museum, which is located at 38370 Point Breeze Road, Coltons Point, MD 20626.

Once you’ve arrived at Saint Clement’s Island State Park via the water taxi, you will see a Park Quest kiosk. There is a stamp in the box for you to stamp your Park Quest Passport. The only other component of your Quest is to have fun touring the island.

St. Clements Island View from Lighthouse CupolaLocated in the Potomac River off the shore of St. Mary's County, the 62-acre St. Clement's Island State Park​ contains a memorial cross dedicated to the memory of the first Marylanders. On March 25, 1634, the first English settlers under the Baltimore proprietorship sailed to St. Clement's Island on the Ark and the Dove. Boat tours to historic St. Clement's Island are offered on a weekend schedule. The 26 passenger vessel, The Water Taxi II, is fully insured and a certified tour boat by the U.S. Coast Guard. The park includes hiking trails and picnicking, with pavilions available on a first come/first serve basis. Fishing and hunting are also enjoyed here. St. Clements Island State Park is equipped with a portojohn and has no accessible amenities.

Directions

From Washington, D.C.: Take 495/95 Beltway to Exit 7A (Route 5 south to Waldorf). Follow Route 5 to Waldorf, make a left in Waldorf to continue on Route 5. In Mechanicsville, Route 5 turns right. Continue on Route 5 to Morganza. Turn right on Route 242. Follow to Colton's Point. Turn left onto Bayview Road and follow Museum signs.

From Virginia: Take Route 301 to Route 234 (turn at the White House Hotel). Take Route 234 south to Clements. Turn right onto Route 242 and follow to Colton's Point. Turn left onto Bayview Road and follow Museum signs.​​
