For Teachers

Our goal is to help you bring science to life for you and your students through the use of authentic research and data collected. Numerous field based programs are offered throughout the Reserve’s components through use of boats, hiking trails and boardwalks. These national and state standards-based programs are designed to be modified to meet the needs of the program participants. In addition to the field programs CBNERR-MD, the National Estuarine Research Reserve System (NERRS) and DNR, also provide professional development opportunities, high quality classroom based activities and curricula that focus on estuarine issues and environmental literacy. For more details on any of these opportunities, please contact our Education Coordinator.

Field Programs

CBNERR-MD and the component sites offer many hands-on, standards based field investigations for students of all ages. Please visit our “Visit Us” page for links  to our  component sites’ education pages.

Environmental Literacy

CBNERR is committed to providing special opportunities for students and their teachers and families to meet the Environmental Literacy Graduation Requirement!
