Volunteer Opportunities

Blue bells in the Tawes Garden

Interested in supporting the Tawes Garden? Donate your time and talents by becoming a volunteer - help garden staff with planting, special events, educational programs and service projects.

Friends of Helen Avalynne Tawes Garden, Inc.

Join an established group of garden supporters whose mission is to promote, educate, support and encourage the conservation and appreciation of native and cultivated plantings in the Tawes Garden. Participate in various fundraising events held throughout the year to support the group's mission.

Tours and Programming

Assist with tours and programs for children and adults, primarily during the spring and fall.

Gardening

Don't have a plot to putter around in? Come work in ours. Learn some new techniques or hone your gardening skills. Work at a variety of tasks such as planting, watering and pruning -- independently or with the garden staff.

Tawes Garden Gift Shop

If you prefer the indoors consider becoming a shop keeper, working a two hour shift in our gift shop. Handle sales transactions, provide customer assistance and assist with merchandise restocking. Enjoy pleasant surroundings, on-the-job training and free parking.

Volunteer Service and Eagle Scout Projects

Complete required hours by working on garden maintenance, or work with the garden staff to identify and develop a project from conception to completion.

Volunteers are invited to an annual luncheon in appreciation for their accumulated hours of service to the garden.
