Lapidum Boat Launch Reopens October 25, 2012

The park's Lapidum Boat Launching facility has reopened effective Thursday, October 25, 2012. During the two week closure, excess sediment deposited following Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee was removed, allowing boaters to more safely launch from the facility. An additional, brief closure is anticipated in the next 12 months to complete the removal of sediment. A mechanical breakdown of equipment forced the crew to cease work while the equipment was repaired. Every effort will be made to minimize public impacts with the future closure.
