Introduction To Quest
This quest will challenge the visitor to not only pay attention to nature but to photograph and identify items that they find. The visitor can then upload their findings to Project Noah or return to the Discovery Center and we will do it for them. This will ultimately add to our natural history identification park wide.
Begin your quest at the Discovery Center 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Here you will be given a clue sheet, field guide and instructions. The clue sheet may also be downloaded from the website. Quest begins in the Center.
Deep Creek Lake State Park is located on the shoreline of Deep Creek Lake, Maryland’s Mountain Treasure. The park features two guarded beaches during the summer, a picnic area and a concession operation where you can rent canoes, kayaks and paddle boards. There is a 112 campsite campground with centrally located modern bathrooms in all loops with electric hookups in one loop. The park features over 5 miles of hiking trails along the side of Meadow Mountain with spectacular views of the lake from near the old Fire Tower. The Discovery Center is the flagship of the park featuring exhibits on both the natural and historical features of the area along with our new science center.
